CDL Physical Exams in Vero Beach, FL: We provide convenient scheduling and hassle-free DOT physical exams for CDL truck drivers and bus drivers. Our certified nurse practitioner is accepting appointments. Please call (772) 492-9677 for information and to schedule. We do not book online for this.
Important Information:
If you drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs, you are required to carry a medical card.
If you drive a vehicle over 26,000 lbs, you are required to be drug tested.
Blood pressure reading below 140/90 may allow for a 2 year medical card.
Keep your BMI < 33 to help avoid sleep apnea testing.
If you have an implantable defibrillator you will be disqualified.
Recommendations for the day of the exam:
Do not smoke for at least two hours prior to your physical exam.
Drink plenty of water prior to the physical exam and stay hydrated.
Do not drink coffee, tea, soda or hot chocolate the day of the exam. WATER ONLY
Make sure and take all of your routine prescriptions medications on time.
When arriving for the exam:
Bring your current driver’s license and one additional form of ID.
Know your medical history, past surgeries and all current medications. (Bring a list.)
Bring a list of prescribing doctors for all medications.
Bring eye glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids.
Be prepared to provide a urine sample.
Andrea Machado, FNP-BC heads up the Primary Care services and she typically is caring for patients through physical exams (for insurance, school, sports), DOT physicals (for CDL drivers), weight loss programs from injections to natural alternatives, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Functional Medicine, IV Therapy, sexual wellness, and other medical modalities.
In 2003, Andrea became a Registered Nurse in the state of New York, continued her education until 2017 and became a NY Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2022, she moved to Vero Beach, Florida. She maintains both NY and FL licenses. In 2023. Andrea joined Indian Health Center’s Dr. Ryan Hess and Dr. Kay Lee with Functional Medicine. As a team, they work together to keep you up and moving as healthy as possible.

Nurse practitioners have a master’s degree, also known as a MSN, as well as board certification in their specialty. A nurse practitioner can diagnose and treat medical conditions in addition to ordering, performing and interpreting medical tests. An NP also has full prescribing privileges.
